VIOGEN Semaglutide Pen 10mg is a medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and for weight loss. It belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, or GLP-1 RAs, and mimics the GLP-1 hormone released in the gut in response to eating. It works by helping the pancreas release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high, slowing the movement of food through the stomach, decreasing appetite, and causing weight loss. Semaglutide may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, allergic reactions, acute kidney injury, pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, diabetic retinopathy, and abnormal behaviors.

PRIOR TO USE
Keep the pen refrigerated and check the expiry date.
PREPARING THE PEN
• Carefully remove the cartridge holder and pen from the tray. Ensure the cartridge remains secure in the holder to prevent it falling out.
• Insert the cartridge and cartridge holder into the pen, then twist until you feel/hear the initial click.
MIXING THE PEN
• Remove the safety cap from the cartridge holder.
• Remove the seal from the needle (pictured below), place the needle onto the end of the cartridge
holder by gently pressing down and turning the needle until it is secure.
Do not over tighten.
• Firmly hold the pen vertically with the needle pointing up and twist the cartridge holder
until it reaches maximum twisting point. You will see the rubber bung move upwards, allowing the solution to enter the top chamber of the cartridge. Make sure the circle symbol is In the correct position.
• Once the solution has completely entered the top chamber,
place the pen in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Allowing the solution to reconstitute/mix naturally. DO NOT SHAKE.
REMOVING AIR BUBBLES
- Once you have reconstituted/mixed the pen, hold the pen up vertically to allow air bubbles to float to the top, gently tap the pen to allow any further air bubbles to rise.
- Carefully remove the needle covers, dispose of the inner needle cover and keep the outer needle cover for safe disposal after use.
- While holding the pen vertically, click the dial to “1” and firmly press the injection button.
- Repeat this step until the air has fully vented from the pen.INJECTING THE PEN
- With clean hands, prepare the area for injection by wiping the area with an alcohol swab.
- Click the dial to the desired dose (recommended WEEKLY starting dose is 0.2mg/ “2” on the dial).
- Using one hand, firmly pinch and secure the skin, then proceed to insert the needle into the skin.
- Once the needle is fully inserted, let go of the skin and firmly press the injection button to administratethe Semaglutide/Ozempic.
- Allow 10 seconds before removing the needle from the skin.STORAGE
• Place the outer needle cover onto the needle, twist and remove the needle from the pen. • Dispose the used needle safely into a sharps bin.
• Place the safety cap onto the pen and store between 2-8c.
Storing in higher temperatures will negatively effect potency and shelf life.
